Wells Qualifies For State

PHS took quite a few young ladies and three guys to the regional track meet April 28-30 in Tyler, Texas.  They competed well, but fell short of making it to state.  At this level, you have to be in the top two to continue on, so it is a bit tougher, and the competition is fierce.  However, Tate Wells ran in the 400 meters with a time of  58.68, placing 2nd, and qualifying for state. She also competed in the 800 meter run but did not qualify.  The rest of the results are below:

4×100 Relay – 52.47 in prelims- Kassi Ballard, Vanessa Ogie, Kylie Watt, Addy Gammons

200 meter- Vanessa Ogie- 27.48- prelims

4×400 relay- 4:20- prelims- Xavi Smith, Skye Gill, Everly Joplin, Tate Wells

Discus- Hannah Jackson- 8th- 101’

Shot Put- Hannah Jackson- 10th- 33’ 3.5” 

Sierra Hacker- 15th- 29’10”

High Jump- Vanessa Ogie- 7th- 5’

Pole Vault- Skye Gill- 13th – 8’ 

300 hurdles- Mitch Nuziard- 3rd- 40.25

Shot Put- Dillon Cope- 15th – 39’6.5”
