Callisburg Challenges Lady Lions

Mikayla Espolt, Reporter

Our Ponder Lady Lions varsity volleyball team played at home on Tuesday, Oct 19, against Callisburg. The Lions thought they had it won when the first set ended 25-17. Sadly, Callisburg picked up their momentum and won the next three sets (17-25, 21-25, 21-25). The entire front row was dominated by freshman, with middle Olivia Todd (7 kills), outside Skye Gill (10 kills), and outside Sophia Vargas (8 kills). Libero Kaelyn McWilliams made 29 digs, and all-around player Jasmine Taylor had 22 digs. The season may be coming to a close, but the Lady Lions are fighting harder than ever to end the season with a bang. Come support your Lady Lions this Friday at Paradise at 4:30.
