Lady Wildcats Tame the Lady Lions

Mrs. Josselet, adviser

On Friday, September 24, the Ponder Lady Lions volleyball team traveled to Callisburg to take on the Lady Wildcats.  The first set was a close one with Callisburg eking out a win 25-22.  Ponder came out determined to win the next set, but fell short once again 25-20.  With the third and deciding set looming over them, the Lady Lions knew they had to pull on their reserves to really dig deep and pull out a win on this set or it was game over.  And that is just what they did, winning the third set 25-22.  In the fourth set,  Ponder once again had the burden of winning the next two sets in order to claim a victory and go to 4-1 in district, but it was not to be.  Callisburg pulled out a 4th set and final winning set of 25-21 cinching the victory.  The Lady Lions now move to 3-2 in district.  They will face Paradise at home on Tuesday, so let’s pack the stands and cheer them on to a victory!
