Anxiety: A True Story

Anxiety: A True Story

Zoe Beaty, reporter

Anxiety is something so many people suffer from, but especially teenagers.   I’d like to share a true story about someone who suffers from it personally, which would be me, Zoe Beaty. Having anxiety can truly affect a person and their thinking patterns, but with the events that made me who I am today, I don’t even notice myself anymore. To start it off with, my parents divorced when I was just turning three, from there, I believe my life has been a wreck with anxiety kicking in every few hours.  My mother gave me off to my biological father for $1,200, which my father used to threaten me with every time I just wanted to meet her. Later on, a new woman came into my father’s life, and my life only got worse. She would constantly make pathetic threats in attempt to scare me out of having a normal life, and she would then lie or exaggerate my behavior to my dad and make me look like a terrible child. This only made my anxiety worse as time went on and eventually I suffered from a sharp pain in my heart every time I got anxious, which was every day. After many years of manipulation, threats and lies, at just 13 years old, my father kicked me out of the house and sent me off to terrible people who did things to me that I won’t mention. Now I live my life in Ponder, trying to move on and make friends. After years of anxiety, it has finally calmed down, and I can say that my life has become somewhat normal,  and I’m very thankful for it.
