Lady Lions Struggle Against the Yellowjackets

Mason Pittman, Reporter

The Ponder Lady Lions had tragic loss against the Boyd Lady Yellowjackets going out in 3 sets. First set started withe a bang and looked promising, but a tough Yellowjacket offense broke through the Lady Lion defense and the Lady Lions lost 13-25.  With the second set, the Lady Lions struggled from the beginning and could never find their rhythm.  Boyd defeated them soundly 8-25.  The team seemed to rally in the third set, coming together for some nice team play and shots, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a strong Boyd team who dominated the last set 13-25.    The stat leaders for the game were  Sawyer Mulkey- 4 kills, 1 block,  Olivia Todd- 4 blocks,  Kaelyn McWilliams- 8 digs,  Devyn Weiland- 7 digs.  They travel to S&S on Friday to continue district play and to improve their 2-1 record to 3-1.  Let’s go Lady Lions!!
