Akins Has Good Showing at State

Mrs. Josselet, adviser

Tyler Akins, the lone state golfer, traveled to Austin on May 17th and 18th to compete in the UIL State Golf Tournament.  He didn’t bring home any medals, but he did bring home a great experience and a determination to return his senior year.  The rain that accompanied the golfers for two days didn’t make it easy on them, but Tyler had a good showing placing 32nd out of 75 golfers.  He shot 85 his first day and 86 his second for a total of 171.  For his first state appearance he did really well, and made us all Ponder Proud!
