Strong Pitching Not Enough for a Lion Victory

Mrs. Josselet, adviser

Both teams were strong on the hill on Friday, but Pilot Point was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over the Lions on Friday.  Robbie Wallace started the game for Ponder Lions Varsity and recorded 14 outs.   One bright spot for Ponder was a single by Kade Irons  in the second inning.  Wallace toed the rubber for the team . The righty went four and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out two and walking one. Irons threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Tyler Long led the team with two hits in three at bats.  It was also senior night for the Lions, and the lone senior, Zach Clark, was recognized for his leadership and contribution to the team.  Congrats, Zach on a great high school career, and best wishes for your future!
