Four hits from Tyler Long paved the way to victory over Pilot Point 16-13 on Tuesday. Long doubled in the second, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and doubled in the seventh. Ponder collected 13 hits and Pilot Point had ten in the high-scoring affair. Pilot Point was on the scoreboard first, but the Lions pulled away for good with ten runs in the third inning. In the third Dillon Cope singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Long singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Logan Reynolds drew a walk, scoring one run, Timber Crider was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, an error scored one run, Zach Clark singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Kade Irons drew a walk, scoring one run, and Graham Whitewood singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Long was credited with the victory for the Lions allowing five hits and four runs over three and a third innings, striking out three. Packard Smith and Cooper Rodgers entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Ponder tallied 13 hits in the game. Long, Whitewood, Copy, and Clark all managed multiple hits for the team with Long going 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lions in hits.
