Lions Can’t Stop Unflappable Eagles

Ponder stayed in it until the end, but Valley View pulled away late in a 7-4 victory on Friday. The game was tied at four with Valley View batting in the top of the seventh when Valley View scored two runs on a stolen base. In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lions tied things up at four. Brock Rouse drew a walk, scoring one run.  The team tallied four runs in the sixth inning led by Zach Clark, Logan Reynolds, Timber Crider, and Rouse, all knocking in runs in the inning.   Robbie Wallace led things off on the mound for Ponder surrendering four runs on five hits over four innings, striking out four and walking zero. Dillon Cope and Kade Irons entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.  The Lions socked one home run on the day when Clark  had a long ball in the sixth inning who led the team with two hits in four at bats.
