Lady Lions Batter Blackbirds; Lady Tigers Overpower Lady Lions

Carlos Ochoa, reporter

The Lady Lions worked diligently throughout this strange season with a singular goal of making it to the playoffs.  They accomplished this goal, but it ended sooner than they would have liked.  The Lady Lions won the first Bi- district game against the Keene Blackbirds. They started the first set of the game crushing them by an immense score of 25-9. Second set comes in and our Lady Lions kill it, winning 25-13. The girls were ready to take the big dub of the game scoring 25-13 against Keene in the last and final set. Good job Lady Lions on crushing the Blackbirds!

Lady Lions unfortunately met their match in the second playoff game with the Gunter Tigers. It was a challenge and the girls sadly lost against Gunter.  They worked hard the whole game, never stopped pushing, and didn’t give up.  They left everything they had on that court, and that is what counts the most.  The sets were 25-15, 25-20, 25-21.

Below are the stats combined from the two games:

Harper Mulkey- 14 kills, 17 digs, 2 aces

Gracie Perryman- 12 kills, 14 digs, 1 block

Cordie Ford- 10 kills, 19 digs, 3 aces

Averee Tipton- 47 assists, 15 digs, 2 aces

Sawyer Mulkey- 14 kills, 3 blocks

Devyn Weiland- 16 digs

Kaelyn McWilliams- 11 digs

Jasmine Taylor- 4 kills, 5 digs, 2 blocks
