Ponder Lions Varsity lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat to Pottsboro on Friday. The game was tied at four with Pottsboro batting in the top of the seventh when an error scored one run for Pottsboro. The Lions played a great game with minimal errors.The Ponder Lions Varsity lost despite out-hitting Pottsboro nine to eight.Ponder Lions Varsity totaled nine hits in the game. Doolittle, Clark, and Hayden Simmons all had multiple hits for Ponder Lions Varsity. Clark and Doolittle each managed three hits to lead Ponder Lions Varsity. Langford started the game for Pottsboro. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out 11 Reid Shelton started the game for Ponder Lions Varsity. He allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Both teams played great and it was a tough loss for our Ponder Lions, but they played a great game!
