The Ponder Lions played a great game against Krum to start the season off with a win. The Ponder Lions played solid defense against the Krum Bobcats having only 3 errors and giving up one run through seven innings. While the stats did not say the Lions had the best game, the Lions only had 7 hits, but scored 5 runs off of those hits. The pitchers Connor Spivey, Bryce Brockett, and Jakob Bernard pitched very well, only giving up one run and an average of 35 pitches a piece. The Lions need to go get the strikeout column down next game, which can likely lead to a very successful day if that can happen. The Lions take on the Alvord Bulldogs in a double header on Saturday, February 23rd, in Ponder. Come out and cheer your Lions on to a win!
