Ponder JV won last Thursday. The JV has not given up a point yet this year. The kids played great on defense. Offense started slow with only seven points in the first half. After half-time the Lions scored twice on long drives that took up most of the second half. All of the JV players are excited for the win and are looking forward to Nocona.

The Lions lost a tough game to the Cityview Mustangs last Friday, September 7th. Cityview started off quick by scoring the first drive of the game. Ponder then came back and kicked a field goal to make the score 7 to 3. The Mustangs then took off and had a 21 to 3 lead at halftime. Ponder and Cityview then held each other to a scoreless second half. The leading rushers for this game were Mason Durrett and Chase Taylor while the Lions combined for a total of 146 yards on 31 carries. The Lions had only 1 turnover with 5 punts. Your leading receiver for the game was Carlos Zepeda with an 8 yard catch from Mason Durrett. The Lions will take on the Nocona Indians for the homecoming game this Friday, September 14th.
