On Tuesday, May 1st, Ponder High School had their spring sports banquet for baseball, softball, tennis, and track. Coach Low, Coach McQueen, Coach Irons, Coach Williams, and Coach Ballard all spoke. Rylan Waldo, Becca Smith, and Kelsi McDaniel all received awards for track, while Coach Low, Coach McQueen, and Coach Irons recognized their teams.  Since softball, tennis, and track seasons are still winding down, awards were not given out as they are usually done.  The Lady Lions are headed to the semifinal round of the softball playoffs this week, Rylan Waldo heads to the state track meet, and Remington Jackson and Sadie Dearing are heading off to the state tennis tournament next week to compete in women’s doubles.  Lots of great athletes to be acknowledged in these sports!
