Plot: Ready Player One is about a boy named Wade Watts, who along with everyone else in the world has turned to a virtual reality world called the OASIS. The real world is terrible so everyone practically lives in the OASIS. James Halliday, the creator of the OASIS, has recently died and has created an Easter egg in the OASIS. The first person to complete the Easter egg gets Halliday’s treasure; the rights to control the OASIS, and his fortune he left behind. In order to complete the Easter egg, a player has to complete a series of challenges to get three keys. It is up to Wade Watts to finish the Easter egg before the evil corporate company, IOI, takes the OASIS over and ruins it.

Review: Ready Player One is an action packed movie that will have your eyes glued to the screen the moment you walk into the theater. I had been looking forward to seeing this movie for a long time because I had read and loved the book it was based on. I personally liked it because it was full of 80’s references, which in my opinion was the greatest time to be alive. Although the movie itself is amazing, it is COMPLETELY different from the book. If you haven’t read the book you’re almost certain to love the movie, while if you have read the book you just have to go into the theater with an open mind to be able to enjoy the film. I personally suggest reading the book rather than watching the movie, but if you’re one of those movie lovers this is definitely one that needs to be near the top of your list. I would rate Ready Player One 8.5 out of 10 stars because of the overall intensity of the movie.
