Coach Hendrix, Coach Avery, and the Cross Country squads traveled to Lipan on Wednesday.  The Lady Lions team was led once again by Freshmen phenom Riley Jackson who tallied a 6th overall finish, and ran a 13:49 2-mile. Riley was followed closely by other Freshmen Caitlyn Brown (14:31), who finished 9th, and Taylor Wells (14:59) in 20th. Coach Avery and the Lady Lions should be looking towards a bright future with the performances of these Freshmen, as well as not having a single runner graduating this year.

Despite having to compete in the absence of their heart and soul, Jacob Pagel, the Lions managed a solid day with 2 top 20 finishes. A Freshmen led the Lions as well, as Hayden Moussa notched an 18th place finish a time of 19:43. Third year runner Cameron Clark was hot on his tail and finished 19th with a time of 19:47. Freshmen Aaron Stephens took 1st overall in the JV division with a 12:31 two-mile time, and is destined to be a top runner for the Varsity in the near future. The Lions and Lady Lions get set to head to Pottsboro on Saturday the 23rd to continue preparing for district.
